This site collects very little about you. No advertising, no tracking cookies, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
Who is responsible
This website, alebarav.com, is run by Ale Barav (Alejandra Castellanos Bar‑Av), Tel Aviv, Israel. She is responsible for the personal information collected here. For any privacy question or request, write to ale@holaland.com.
What we collect
Your serendipity story
When you use the “Share your serendipity story” form we receive your name, your email address if you give one, your story, and whether you agreed to have it published.
Emails you send
Buttons such as “Let’s talk margin” and “Pre‑order” open your own email program. Anything you send arrives in Ale’s mailbox like any other email.
Anonymous usage counts
When someone sends a story or clicks a link to another site, we record the event, the page and the link. We use no cookies and no identifiers, and nothing ties these counts to you.
Technical logs
Our hosting and database providers automatically log technical data such as IP address, browser type and time of request. They use it to deliver the site and keep it secure, and keep it only for a short period.
Your accessibility settings
If you turn on High contrast or Pause animations, the choice is saved in your own browser so it stays on between visits. It is never sent to us.
Why we use it
- To read your story and reply if you left an email address.
- To publish your story, with your first name only, only if you ticked the box. You can withdraw that permission at any time and we will take it down.
- To understand, in aggregate, which parts of the site people use.
- To keep the site and its data secure.
Where European data‑protection law applies, the legal basis is your consent for publishing, and our legitimate interest in responding to you and running a secure site for everything else.
You are not required to share anything
No law requires you to give us any of this information. Sending a story is entirely voluntary. Without a name and a story we simply cannot receive it.
Who else handles it
We use two service providers, and each processes data only on our instructions:
- Supabase stores the story form and usage counts in a database in Frankfurt, Germany, in the European Union.
- Vercel hosts the website and delivers it through a worldwide network, which may include the United States, under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
The site’s fonts are hosted on the site itself, so loading a page sends nothing to Google or any other font service. We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Stories: for up to three years, or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first.
- Anonymous usage counts: up to two years.
- Emails: for as long as the conversation needs.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may withdraw permission to publish your story at any time. These rights come from Israel’s Protection of Privacy Law and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Write to ale@holaland.com and we will reply within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your request, you can complain to Israel’s Privacy Protection Authority or to the data‑protection authority in your EU country.
How we protect it
The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS. The database cannot be read from the public website, only written to through narrow, validated functions. Access to the data is limited to Ale and the person who maintains the site.
Children
This site is meant for adults. If you are under 16, please do not send us your story.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date at the top.

האתר מופעל על ידי אלה בר‑אב (אלחנדרה קסטיאנוס בר‑אב), תל אביב. כשאתם משתפים סיפור בטופס, נשמרים השם, המייל אם מסרתם אותו, הסיפור וההסכמה לפרסום. המידע משמש רק לקריאת הסיפור ולמענה, ולפרסום עם שם פרטי בלבד, ורק אם סימנתם את התיבה.
